Shahidul Alam 


“Confessions of a Photo Activist”

Alam’s work has been shown at such galleries as the MOMA in New York, The Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris, The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, the National Art Gallery in Malaysia and the Tate Modern in Britain.

In addition to being an active photographer Alam founded Drik Picture Library and Pathshala: South Asian Institute of Photography. He is also a director of the Chobi Mela  International Festival of Photography and a jury member of numerous competitions including World Press Photo where he has been a judge on four occasions.

Portfolio reviews

Bring your best images or most recent project and our portfolio reviewers will give honest feedback and practical advice to take your documentary work to the next level. Reviewers will be a mix of professional photographers and photo editors. Reviews will take place at CMU Art Center the 10th and the 13th of February. Portfolio Reviews start at 500 THB for 30 mins or 900 THB for 1 hour. Register at DAA or at info stand at CMU Art Center during the festival.

Hossein Farmani – is founder of more events than seems possible. They include The Lucie Awards / Foundation, The Palm Springs Photo FestivalPX3 (Prix de la Photographie Paris), The International Design Awards,  The International Photography Awards and  MOPLA, to name a few.  Available on Thursday the 13th

CDAF will host a series of photo and film-related workshops throughout the festival at the DAA Center.

All workshops cost just 500 THB per 1/2 day session.
